Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah City Market

St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah is special. As much as we try, we can never explain its magnitude. It is simply an event you must experience for yourself to understand fully. If you are lucky enough to celebrate the 200th St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah this year, make sure Savannah City Market is on your list. Here are five ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah City Market.

Party like a local

Savannah City Market, located in the heart of downtown, is a vibrant and historically significant hub for entertainment, art, food, drinks and shopping. Situated between the iconic Franklin Square and Ellis Square, these four city blocks are where both locals and visitors come to enjoy the array of restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries & studios. Come experience the courtyard and all the fun of City Market.

Watch the parade

The 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is on Saturday, March 16 at 10:15 a.m. However, some people arrive as early as 6 a.m. to get a good spot along the parade route that begins at the intersection of Gwinnett Street and Abercorn Street. For a route map and more information, visit the official parade website.

Listen to live music

There’s nothing like live music to start a party. This week, Savannah City Market will host special performances in the courtyard and bars. Check out the schedule below.

Grab a to-go drink

Wet Willie’s is known for its famous daiquiris. While we all have our favorite flavors, now is a good time to try something new with the Irish Attitude. It’s a delicious combination of Sour Apple, Pina Colada and Attitude Improvement. If daiquiri’s aren’t your thing, visit our bars and restaurants for everything from craft beers to cocktails, wine and more.
