Cocktail Classes at Congress Street Up

Savannah City Market is full of fun surprises to keep you entertained. One of our most popular attractions is the American Prohibition Museum. As the first and only prohibition museum in the U.S., you don’t want to miss a chance to see all of the exhibits and activities. Located inside the American Prohibition Museum, the Congress Street Up is a 1920s style speakeasy featuring cocktails, wines and beers that have origins in the Prohibition era.

Not only do museum guests have the opportunity to enjoy the speakeasy bar when exiting the exhibit, visitors 21 and older can also learn how to create signature cocktails during the nightly cocktail classes at Congress Street Up. Certified bartenders teach the process to mix drinks for the perfect flavor combination while sharing the history behind them.

Learn how to shake and stir in style with tips and tricks from a professional mixologist. For 2 hours, you are given professional bartender tools to create two cocktails (one shaken and one stirred) using step-by-step instructions from our bartenders. The bartenders follow the tradition of early cocktail mixologists who combined mixers with alcohol during the Prohibition era since the drinks were so potent. In addition to the full-sized custom cocktails, the cocktail class also includes three sample cocktails and small bites to snack on. From the tin punch ceilings to the parquet floors to the period music to the costumed bartenders, it is quite the experience.

This is perfect for newbies and connoisseurs! You can sign up for a class to meet new people, plan a date night, entertain guests, celebrate a special occasion or host a corporate event. Learn bartending skills, enjoy your creations and show off your new mixing skills to friends and family when you’re done.

Space is limited so reserve your spot Monday through Saturday at 7pm. Call (912) 250-4505 for questions or reservations. Save when you buy tickets online.
